Welcome to week 12 of Internet of Literal Things. The weird, wacky, wonderful, and wild of the world wide web seems to be several-too-many “w’s” and a perfect place for me to start. I’m Sara Nason, a fellow person on the internet, who happens to have many hours on hand to read random articles that are tucked into multiple crevices in my phone.
If you’ve been around for the newsletter from its first few weeks, you’ll have noticed that my spacebar is indeed! still! broken! That #FreelanceLife dictates that while I could spend my Saturday at the Apple Store at the mall 15 minutes away from my apartment, I’d much rather spend it lying completely horizontal recovering from a bout of the flu that seems to arrive every summer in prime time. So instead of PEMDAS (please excuse my dear Aunt Sally, for all you math nerds), PEMDAC (please excuse my dumb-*ss computer).
This week was the prime-time flu arrival, where I had places to go, people to see, things to do, yet my body very quickly let me know I wasn’t going to have enough energy to make it around the block of my neighborhood. With that in mind, some of the categories may seem sparse, like what I visually experienced, as I stared at the window with my A/C unit protruding into my apartment, rather than, you know, actually watching anything that my brain would remotely be able to process.
So, strangers of the internet, here we go. Summer Prime Time for the Internet of Literal Things #12.
